Scholarships Awarded 2023

On May 17, 2023, Gabilan Chapter Seneca presented 3 scholarships at the Hollister High Senior Awards Night.  Lyli Soto and Laci Lemos received the Gabilan Seneca scholarship in the amount of $1,500 each.  Lyli is the senior class president and a cheer captain.  She will attend San Diego State University and pursue a nursing degree.  Laci is the ASB president and also a cheer captain.  She will attend Grand Canyon University and major in social work. 

The third recipient, Nathyn Vasquez, received the Gabilan Seneca scholarship and the William Medeiros, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, worth $1,000 and $2,000 respectively.  Nathyn’s application demonstrated a remarkable level of character and achievement.  He plans to attend San Jose State University in the fall, majoring in Sociology with plans to become a licensed social worker.

We are also pleased to award a $1,500 scholarship to Dario Garcia, who is currently completing his freshman year at Chico State.  Dario received our Gabilan Seneca scholarship last year as a senior at Hollister High.  Dario has adjusted well to college life, and made the Dean’s list his first semester at college!  We wish him continued success in his endeavors.

All of these recipients overcame significant personal challenges along the way.  Their stories inspire our mission, and we are honored to help them pursue their bright futures.
